Computer training DVDs launched

09:46 26th February 2009

A specialist training organisation has launched a series of DVDs designed to facilitate computer training in a range of creative programmes.

Mediaroots is offering computer training in packages such as InDesign, Dreamweaver and Photoshop by way of a distributing partnership with education and charity specialist Douglas Stewart EDU.

The DVDs have been designed to enhance lessons in schools, helping both students and teachers, while they are also aimed at people seeking additional IT training after finishing a course.

Jack Smith, managing director of Mediaroots, said: "Not only are these training DVDs perfect for teachers and institutions focusing on creative arts but for their students who may be finding it difficult to get jobs upon completing academic courses, given the current economic climate."

Mr Smith added that the DVDs offer practical advice on how to apply the skills taught to projects such as web design, as well as simply teaching how the programmes work.

The Children's Society recently found that many young people are worried about their future job prospects in the recession.
