Computer taster courses open to graduates

A company which deals with training, technology and jobs in the computer graphics industry is offering taster courses for graduates.

The three-day programmes from Escape Studios will be run during the summer and may be of interest to people about to finish their IT training.

Interested parties can pick from four available courses - introduction to 3D using Maya, introduction to computer animation, introduction to visual effects and introduction to games.

The purpose of the sessions is to provide students with a feel for the IT industry and what a job in computer graphics might be like.

Dominic Davenport from Escape Studios said: "The current economic climate is causing people to assess their employment prospects and consider new, expanding industries such as computer graphics."

All of the four summer classes cost £349 and this amount would be refunded if a student decided to sign up for a full-term course. These are usually 12-weeks long.

Students will have a choice of studying the full-time course in the classroom or online.
