Computeach celebrates 45 years

18:00 24th June 2009

Computeach is celebrating its 45-year anniversary this week and says it is looking forward to another 45 years of service.

The company provides IT skills training through distance learning and has supported more than 100,000 people since its launch in 1964.

Managing director of Computeach, Karl Parkinson, said: "I'm exceptionally proud of everyone involved, not just our fabulous tutors and support teams, but the students as well.

"They've all contributed enormously to make Computeach the success story that it is today."

Founded by George Parkinson, the skills training provider was the first of its kind to be created in the 1960s.

Mr Parkinson added that as today's students are more IT literate than in the past, the challenge facing Computeach now and in the future is to develop courses that push their potential to the maximum.

In 2005 the organisation became the first distance learning provider to become a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Learning Solutions.

Microsoft says that in order to achieve this status, businesses must take their training services to a level that few can match in the world.
