Plans for a new centre providing IT training for the blind have been unveiled in Wolverhampton.
Expressandstar.com reported the Beacon Centre for the Blind is "fit for the 21st-century" as it comes complete with gym, restaurant, recreation hall, conference facilities and an activity centre.
Most importantly, there is an IT suite for IT training which was part sponsored by a £20,000 donation from AF Blakemore and Son, a food distribution firm based in Willenhall.
A representative from the Beacon Centre for the Blind, Kate Fletcher, said: "When visually impaired people are asked what they need the most, IT training always comes in the top three."
The current centre run by Beacon is scattered across separate buildings in a seven-acre plot.
Earlier this month, the charity held a fundraising summer soul concert in Seisdon. Artists who performed at the event included Xtreme Supreme - three singers who presented a selection of hits from the Supremes - Lodge Attack Steel Band and the Mouldy Figs Jazz Band.
