Conservative Party leader David Cameron has praised a college in Sunderland for its provision of adult learning and attempts to get people back into work.
The Sunderland Echo reported yesterday (January 13th) that the Tory leader visited City of Sunderland College and was impressed with the innovative approach of its Centre for Advanced Technology.
The college looks to offer people the skills they require to return to the workplace, change their career paths or give them the opportunity to develop further in their current profession.
Mr Cameron told the newspaper: "There should be no reason for people waiting months on the dole.
"We should be providing appropriate and relevant training opportunities so that they can act now, to help to get into the best possible position and get back into work."
Mr Cameron also reportedly gave his seal of approval to the college's computer academy, which offers courses relating to IT training and system networks.
The Conservatives are currently around ten points ahead of Labour, according to the latest opinion poll released in the Times.
