New online training facilities are being developed by the BBC and are to be offered to the public, the corporation has announced.
New online training courses will be available from the organisation, with many focussing on delivering journalism master classes with the help of some of the biggest names in the industry.
Evan Davis, John Humphrys and John Simpson will be among the journalists offering their hints, tips and advice to budding journalists through the online training initiative, which is aimed at developing talent and sparking interest in journalism across the country and beyond.
The online training courses will form the centrepiece of the BBC Academy scheme, which is a new centre of excellence established by the corporation for the teaching of journalism, production, leadership and technology.
It is hoped the initiative will also encourage more people to consider the potential of a career in the IT industry, by helping them to develop skills necessary for IT careers through the technology portion of the online training programme.
People across the country may be considering a career change at the moment because of the global economic downturn.
The recession has resulted in thousands of people being made redundant and some are choosing to take training courses in new disciplines such as IT in order to find new work.
